  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EVF cable not functioning, but the pins look good. Thoughts?

Hello everyone,

I plugged an 18 inch S-R EVF/LCD cable into my OLED EVF and I got an image, but the buttons on the back weren't working. I was on set at the time so I just pulled the cable and replaced it with a different one.

However, now that I'm home, I had a chance to test the faulty cable. I plugged it into my 7" touch and it didn't even turn on, but the 7" worked with a different cable.

The cable in question is 3 years old so I wouldn't be too shocked if it's just it's time, but I looked at the pins and they look totally clean and straight.

Does anyone in the community have some advice on what I can do to possibly save the cable?

Thanks!

Bump.

It is possible that a wire in the cable is defective or damaged.

Use a multi-meter to check continuity between pins at each end.
