Hey Guys,

I've posted in another section months ago about the RED fraud that goes on when I was first purchasing an EPIC, well it's happened again, so just another pre warning.

Everyone should be alert when buying and selling these RED cameras because there are many scammers out there who are well aware of their value. When I was first purchasing the Epic almost a year ago, I received an email from a seller which grabbed my contact from this forum. Everything seemed legit and later on it proved to be fake, luckily no money was transferred.

Only today, I had my Scarlet listed up for sale on Ebay and received inboxes from the user and he was very interested in the camera. After multiple messages they ensured they were purchasing the kit. I received emails from PayPal and Ebay saying that your item had been sold, payment had been received. These emails included all branding and looked very passable. I double checked with PayPal and no funds had been transferred. I then checked the email address and they had actually masked their sender name to act as if they were service@paypal.com and notification@ebay.com

Be cautious of these f***wits guys and I hope no one has gotten screwed by these desperate assholes.

That's why whenever I do Paypal transactions, don't even bother reading the emails. Just log in to your Paypal account and get all the information through your account. Shipping address, dates, $$ amounts, are all there. Its too easy to fake the emails. Bonus points if the buyer has a confirmed address, that means Paypal will cover you in case the buyer tries a fast one and says "I never received the item".

I am glad to hear you weren't hurt by them and thank you for the update. they also use an outlook account as well. I stopped doing ebay because of this. I will not use Paypal for payment either and also be aware with taking cashiers checks the bank has up to 30 days to return it to
you unlike a regular check which clears in the few days and done with.

Thanks for the heads up. Its a shame that there are so many thieves out there. Thats why its so important to stay networked with people we all trust and admire for their good values and work ethics. I was about to make a purchase so you post really comes in at a good time.

thanks again,

Imran.
