  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

While I do in fact own a set of Bose Acoustimass speakers, in the 10 years since I bought them I will NEVER buy Bose again. They are over-priced consumer speakers. They are definitely NOT prosumer in the least. If you are looking for something to do reference audio with, I'd use almost anything before Bose.

I haven't had the opportunity to audition the Air series. My impression is that they are designed for studio use where the primary function is highly detailed mixing and mastering in a control room designed specifically for that purpose.

I have to agree with Rick. These are not reference type audio monitors. They are "hyped" to make a good impression but not necessarily have an accurate sound output.

Rick earlier comment about getting to a dealer that has a flat listening room to audition monitors is a good idea. Having said that, if you check around for reviews you can also get info on what other pro audio guys like and dislike.
 
Hi, Rick, actually, I realized that Adam is selling A7X instead of A7. But I found out B&H is selling both, and A7 is USD100 cheaper.
What do you say, A7 or A7X?
Anyone has experience with A7X?

I have not tried the A7X, but reading the difference between them on the website, they sound like they just improved the components further:

Given how much I love the A7s, I cannot imagine how these sound. I'd assume the bass response might be a bit more with the new woofers.
