Anyone know how much weight I can safely support with 15mm adapters bolted directly to the Red One body? Looking at ET's UltraLite15 in particular. I would be mounting on it the mattebox from Redrock Micro and a Cinevate follow focus. Also, I would like to be able support a rehoused PL mount Canon 300mm.

Is this asking too much, or is the Red One chassis + ET UltraLite15 up for the challenge?

Other suggestions for low cost 15mm lightweight fixes welcome. :coolgleamA:

I have an ET lightweight mount for sale if you like.
It's pretty tough. Mounted to the camera with four bolts. I can't imagine you'd have a problem with that lens.

Absolutely no problem. I will say that 300mm prime is about as heavy as I would go using it as lens support. I have a Nikon 300 that works fine in this setup with the ET Le adapter. If I mount a heavier lens, like a big zoom, I'll support it with a baseplate and 19 mm rods. I just thick that's too much leverage to be safe with the cantilevered support of the lightweight setup.

Thanks guys, we're on a tight budget and this seems to be the most elegant solution for the short term, as all our accessories are currently 15mm LW. I don't foresee using anything larger than the 300mm, our other lenses are Zeiss Superspeed primes, so no problems there.

Sent you a PM Mark.
