Does anyone know how much an"online" for a RED ONE feature film (90 mins) should roughly cost? You don't have to have exact #'s or anything, just anyone who has some experience with this could help me please.

Are we talking 10G, 20G, 30G-100G?

Any insight would be appreciated... It seems hard to get #s from post houses and I just need a vague range to get a sense of it.

You probably thought of all of this, but without some additional information the range would literally go from 10k up to millions.

Will you need them to do your sound? Add sound design, ADR, grading? Will there be no VFX or insane amounts of VFX? Will they log the footage? Will the footage be a mess? Or will a lot of the work be done on set? Will the sound need tons of work or will it be professionally recorded?

Also, what sort of post house will the project require? Top shelf or indie as possible?

And does everything need to be done by a post house or would you consider hiring a freelance editor? With his own setup and office or have him work on your setup/place?

Just trying to help a little, but it is a big question. Without details the post houses wouldn't be able to give you an estimate either. On a long phone conversation, if you knew everything it will take to manifest your vision, they would still only be able to give you a rough estimate.

Keep in mind that you should always give yourself lots of head room in the budget.

Just a couple of cents.

Roberto is asking all the right questions -- all budgets are malleable -- extremely so. And Red, of course, has added to the immense range while maintaining the possibility of astonishing quality on a budget.

all things being equal and assuming you are ready for an online from an offline
then expect online rates of $300 on the low end to $1000/hr for a senior colorist.

some can color in a day or two ... some may take 5 days.

sometimes its better to go in backwards and say "HI post house. I have X to spend
what can I get?"

good luck and Roberto asked some very intelligent questions... you are going to need to provide a lot more information before anyone can give you a guesstimate
