Essential Apps and tools for brand new Macbook Pro

[Ben Scott]

Hi all,

Just got a new MBP Retina and was wondering what essential apps people installed from day one. Here's what I've got so far

Redcine
Quickres
gfxCardStatus
Caffeine
Firefox
Thunderbird
Adobe CC + Plugins
Neat Video
Adobe Story
Dropbox and Copy
LR Timelapse
VLC
Handbrake
Kindle

Oh, and Steam obviously

Any other essential apps/tools/freebies I should get on there?

Tether… since I'm always traveling with my MBP and don't always have a wifi connection. It basically piggy backs your phone's internet connection. Fast and snappy. Not sure if I can live without this app.

Edit: Important to note, I'm in the U.S on an LTE connection.

Cool looking app. I tend to just the use the wifi hotspot option built into my phone but that's pretty cool.
