Error Code 36 on Macbook with G-Drives

So I've been running into a problem with our work flow. I get an error code 36 when dumping footage from red mag to G-Drives. I usually mount 2 G-drives daisy chained through firewire 800 into two red mag stations daisy chained through firewire 800 to the macbook pro. Footage always dumps fine to one g-drive and not the other, always with the same error code. I know error code 36 usually points to a bad file or bad drive but I've run into this issue 5 or 6 times. The footage has always been good, and theres no way i would buy that many bad drives.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

One question for you. Are your drives bus powered? If so, it could be that there is not enough power getting to that second drive. This not good for the drive and not good for the computer. I use power supplies for every external hard drive that I am copying footage to. Hope this helps.

Both drives are powered. However the two mag stations are powered off the MacBook FireWire 800.

Powering one via bus power is usually fine (except with the more power hungry 512GB SSD), but two may struggle with bus power.

Don't know if that's the cause of your error code though.
