Eric Thayne's Test Footage - The real deal!

Awesome! Thanks for posting. Of course now I want my allocation to hurry up even more.

That makes me feel a lot better compared to what we saw the other day. Thanks for sharing Thomas!

At long last some great footage from the field - thanks for posting - looking forward to getting my Raven sometime soon when ever that is - ordered 25th September 2016

This is some great stuff. I'm curious what lenses you used throughout? Mainly for depth of field on that "small" sensor.

I found this of the RED Raven User Facebook group. I suggest you guys join, some interesting stuff may pop up.

GASP, YOU'RE FROM THE FUTURE?

I kid I kid but that vid is exactly what some of the antsy people needed (or not) because now we want our cameras NOW. But this is what I expected, some of the shots there is tad too much grain but I can work with that.

Yeah the guy who posted his scarlet w footage with his dog wrote on his blog that above 120fps gets quite soft amd grainy. So times that by 1.6 or so and you'll have Ravens texture in 240fps. Hopefully a bit of noise removal and sharpening will take the worst of it. You can find the link in his Vimeo description thread under the video.

Not sh#ting on the parade but how is this the REAL DEAL? Kwan posted clips from the camera zero grading or any sugar coating its exactly what you see is what you get. Specially in those typical zero lighting situations. its like comparing a music demo recorded in a garage vs a demo recorded in a Major studio + Mastered by a PRO lol Some of you guys need a tampon. :arf: I am NEW to RED and i know damn well the Dragon Sensor is a beast i wont start crying because of one video not well lit.

ps sorry if my english is not perfect i'm french

Yeah, I was going to post that earlier today. Beautiful, just what I always hoped for. But I realised what Daniel, the colorful French man :) , said. How much is just colour correction you could add to any good camera, like the Ursa mini.

BECAUASE, Kiddo, this is the Raven test footage most of the general public want to see. You know, how the camera plays in a type of setting most of us shoot. Hell, it's good enough to warrant a NFS article.

I was thinking this, but didn't want to say it as it will discourage some of the people buying a camera for the first time... Especially a RED camera. Just cause you are buying a RED camera does not automatically mean that every single thing you take is going to be gorgeous. The only thing the Raven is bringing to the table is 4.5K resolution, high frame rates, 16.5 stops of dynamic range, and may be some color differences. That's it... It doesn't automatically make the video for you. Don't be disillusioned by the specs either... See Eric's video... If you can't do a similar video with a DSLR.... A RED camera isn't going to change that...
Let me reword that, if you take footage of dog shit with a DSLR... It's still going to be dog shit with a RED camera... It's not going automatically look like a painting of the Mona Lisa. If you want Mona Lisa, you figure out how to paint well... Which takes time and effort.

Kiddo? im guessing you must be in your 50's thanks  Red Raven - Carrion has been out for months so what else were you looking for??? Kwan posted RAW 422HQ and i think its impressive compare to my 8bit 5dmk3. Might not be impressive for the Red Epic guys but from a dslr guy like me its a big step up and ANY footage i am happy to see specially ungraded RAW from the camera.

Looks pretty noisey to me...
