  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ergo...

Ergonomics

Ergonomics

I'm loving the ergonomics and low COG on this. This seems much nicer for shoulder work. Yeah, as Alexander pointed out it looks front heavy, but I'm sure there's some brilliant solution cooking in the Red labs. Also, as Brook pointed out this is far from a fully kited out camera, but dang does this look more manageable than some red rigs I've run around with:

It's day two... So, when do we get to see some more live shots? :help:

If I only had a Brain!!!

coolest camera in the world!

Dudes... we are gonna be making hollywood movies on a camera that an fit in a frigin BACKPACK!
(I know additional peices are missing.)

But seriously, those comparison shots are nothing short of ridiculous.
WOW, that is amazing.
How can anyone complain. Can't wait.

Hehe how about the IO cube.

Have it so you can rotate it its plug axis one of 4 orientations. Plus one of 2 sides.

So you can have on the back oriented out at 45* and then rotate it to one of 4 directions.

Or put it so the plugs are on the side and rotate it to one of the 4 sides.

Over the next few days we will post several different prototype combinations with different accessories for different applications. These are NOT final designs. But they should give you an idea of size and possible shooting positions.

This 1st one is a "brain" with a full compliment of modules and handles.

Only SLIGHTLY more ergo form factor than my current 30LB rig. :weight_lift:
If I can balance this monstrosity (no relation to monstro sensors) with $10K in Zacuto gear, trust me, the Scarlett will be a breeze ;) Sony EX-1 and Letus 35MM Ultimate, Zeiss ZF Lens, Petroff FF, Swiftronic Batteries, Zacuto Studio Rig, Nebtek HD-SDI Monitor, RR Micro MB...

Talk about front heavy... :-)

That rig looks ready to implode.

Thank God for Red.

Wow look at the rods bending. Not much more till that lens/mattebox is on the ground in pieces. If you draw a straight ruled line though the EX1's you can see how that lens adapter etc doesn't quite line up right.

My first thought/concern as well. I'd be almost afraid to touch the lens.

I'd like to see what people think is a balanced "ergo" shoulder rig. Rules... has to be S35 size sensor or film camera and have a full size prime lens (Zeiss or Cooke) or a large zoom. Total weight has to be included with the pic.

Actually, I'll include a professional 2/3" camera in the rules...

I keep hearing about it but I don't see it. Lets see what you got...

BTW... please include the price of the rig while you are at it...
