What programs/program do you guys use to zero out your disks before rental? I know mac ones but not really any windows ones.

There are ways to do it under Windows, but can be a little convoluted if you want to get real advanced, but you can wipe a disk with the regular format command... Or you could just use a utility like KillDisk -- www.killdisk.com

From the command prompt, you can always just do the following:

format s: /X /P:1

Where s: is your disk or volume. The X forces it to unmount and the P is the number of passes to zero-out. A 7-pass zeroing of the drive meets USDOD specs. I've found a single-pass zeroing by either Windows or OSX on the RED media is usually good enough to thwart most recovery efforts or use of REDUNDEAD to keep prying eyes away.

I recommended killdisk above as it can simplify and it gives some more options, at least in the commercial version, such as the ability to write randomized data for an even more secure erasing.

Simply doing a format within the Windows GUI or straight format from the command prompt will typically default to a Quick Format, which doesn't zero-out any data.
