I was shooting at EDC NY for a few artists this weekend and saw some EPIC's. Was curious to see if they were active on the forums. Saw some sweet setups.

I was hired locally and shooting hand held for EDC the Movie 2013. The movie mostly centers on Vegas though and that is when they'll have a full camera team out in force.

I was mostly hanging around Stage 1 - The event company essentially sold the final performance to Apple to film a commercial directed by Matthew Libatique and they had a Spider Cable Camera setup and Techno Crane shooting out at the crowd outfitted with Epics and Optimo Zooms. The Cable Cam setup was pretty sick.

I think most any other Epics and C300s were all there through the event production company, Insomniac - I spoke with one of the Steadicam Ops and he had come in from LA with the rest of that crew.

I don't normally do event production, but the EDC was something else and I'm glad I signed on. Sounds like there's a chance I'll head out to Vegas to shoot as well but that will be a bit more intense.

Were you out with an Epic as well shooting general BTS for the DJ's?

Thanks for filling me in. That's actually pretty awesome that they set that up with Apple. I wanted to check out the cable cam more but they seemed pretty pre-occupied hah. I think I saw you, did you have a Boom op with you?

I was there with a Scarlet (waiting on my EPIC to get shipped from trade-in :D). I've been touring off and on with DJ R3hab doing his video production and was recording for Quintino and Bassjackers on the second day.

@Jason, Thats cool, I've seen your stuff before, I like your style. Most my work is with EDM artists/events also. I run the video production for Wavefront Music Fest in Chicago also, new fest but they gave us a decent enough budget last year that I could shoot with 3 RED's.
