EPIC X won't boot up!

Looking for a solution on how to get our EPIC X to turn on!

The efforts to get it going have been as follows:

Booting with Side Handle on with Battery
Booting with battery Pro Module Quad with Batteries
Booting with Camera Power supply
Booting with Second Camera Power Supply (Jason's)
Swapping Monitor Cable
Removing Module Adaptor on Back
Disconnecting all cables and push power button 10-15 times to
discharge any residual power.

All results the same power LED displays red turn on power and LED goes
amber first stage of fan speed starts but camera doesn't boot up.

Firmware force upgrade attempt v4.0.10 and roll back v3.3.15 - Same Results.
Camera off power button LED red, insert SSD with Force Upgrade
firmware loaded. hold Power button for 30 seconds LED turns amber fan
speed kicks into high gear for about 10 seconds then goes back to
quiet mode. Nothing else happens.

Any tricks out there to jump start it? Please let me know!

Have you tried holding the power button in for 15 seconds or so for a hard re-boot?

And best to remove the REDmag from the camera before doing this.

Are you sure that it's not on? Perhaps try hooking up an external monitor via HDMI or SDI.

Remove the ssd with the firmware update on it and press start. Then format that ssd.

Hi Jason

You've already tried a lot of the usual fixes.

Have you tried stripping every DSMC module off at the same time - so no Side Handle, no Rear Modules, no Redmote, no LCD or any cables. Basically just the body, Side SSD module, and Lens Mount (which one is it?) - make sure power is OFF when removing or reinstalling any of the DSMC modules (LCD is OK to hot plug, but none of the others are hot swappable without potential damage).

Then repower with AC Mains Adapter. Do the hard reboot as before. Hold down Power Button for at least 15 secs or more - fan may cycle a few times - keep holding it down until the fan comes on 100% Full Speed and then let go. The Power Status LED above the Power Button should go from solid Red (Power Present, Camera OFF), through solid Yellow (Power Present, Camera Booting), to solid Green (Power Present, Camera ON).

If it goes solid green, attach the LCD and cable, while watching the Power Status LED. Hopefully that will stay green and the LCD shows the normal display.
Then you can reinstall each module one at a time (powered OFF each time) to see which module is causing problems.

If not, you could try powering off and then also uninstalling the Lens Mount and Side SSD module and doing the Hard Reboot to see if you can get a green LED, but only if you are competent and confident you know how to handle static sensitive electronic devices safely.

If it still doesn't turn on fully, it's fairly likely the camera body is faulty. Then you'll want to power off, reinstall the Lens Mount and Side SSD Module and contact Red to send it in for repair.

I suspect you may have to send your camera in for repair...because this is exactly what happened to my Scarlet-X - exact same symptoms. I had exhausted all means of booting up the camera before giving up and sending my camera in. It came back working perfectly and I never had an issue after that. Not sure what they swap out though...

I have an Epic out on a rental in a remote location with an intermittent issue like this. Anyone solve it via a simple firmware reinstall, or has it always been "send it in"? I can't do anything with it until they come back to NYC...
