It was roughly three and a half years ago that Visceral Psyche pioneered the Red One camera here in beautiful Japan. Now that pioneering spirit is reborn in the shape of the new Red Epic-X camera - a 5K, 120fps, 18+ stop cinematic weapon the size of a Hasselblad! Want higher framerates? How about 300fps at 2K? It's all possible!

A new chapter begins today. From here on in, if you can imagine it, I can shoot it for you. No more limits.

Stay tuned for more info on demonstration days, test shoots and special offers. It's going to be an awesome ride!

Once more unto the breech....

Ok, my two 128GB RedMag SSDs have arrived so they are available for immediate hire for ¥5,000/day.

Hopefully the Epic-X won't be far behind!

Hi Paul!

So, when will you get your Epic-X?

Just waiting on Fedex shipping notification Perry. All paid for and allocated.

Hoping it ships soon as I've got a great little horror project just waiting for it that I hope to have out by Halloween ;)

Cheers,

Paul :)

Hey, good luck Paul.

Congrats Paul!

Hey Paul congrats Pal.
Was very nice to meet you in Vegas.
Happy Shooting!!
Cheers from Brazil

Ok folks, game on!! My Epic-X package has shipped!

The ride's about to get very interesting, very quickly ;)

Stay tuned for some fantastic deals....

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

Thanks Carlos!

I took it out tonight with the venerable Red 18-50 T3 zoom lens and threw it into some VERY low light situations! Pretty crazy what I'm able to pull....

Note this is a GRADED image. I wanted to make it feel dirty and gritty, to give it that grindhouse film look. I've added noise here for effect.

The little bar we were in was DARK! You're looking at an ISO3200 image shot on a T3 lens at 1/50th shutter 23.976fps. If I'd had my Canon EF mount for the camera I could have used my Canon prime lenses, but no matter.

Can't wait to play tomorrow in the daylight to see what I can get from HDR mode.

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

A historic photo. Family portrait - Red One #378 (first Red in Japan, EVER) and Epic-X #135 (first Epic-X in Japan). Proud and humbled to have been the pioneer and father of both! :D

Congratulation, you deserve it. Hope to jump soon in the RED world like DIT first and Scarlet user After.
Thanks Vincent! Hope you get a Scarlet sooner rather than later!

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

Epic-X. 5K @ 120fps. 2K @ 300fps. 18+ stops with HDRx. Edit online at 5K using Adobe CS5.5. ¥55,000/day to rent. Less if you take advantage of the promotional deals on my website. Done! :D
