EPIC-X is the beginning of the EPIC/Scarlet lineup. Since it will be released 1st, it will get the historical attention. That's all I meant.
Easy to say that the RED ONE was the tipping point for this industry. As a camera collector, there is no question that these will be the most desirable objects to own from the RED program and will have the most value long term.

EPIC-X is the penultimate example of what we started out to accomplish.

Whats the ultimate? I agreed with everyone else...wondering.... the ability to record from the human eye...whooo!
The human eye is flawed...
No iris and shutter control, only one kind of lens avaible (a slight fish-eye: considering I know some fish-faced guys, it makes sense), no zoom and it blinks: no way we will ever use that for shooting!
Autofocus is excellent, though.
The ultimate would be a camera built upon the fundamentals of molecular assembly which would allow for not only software/firmware upgrades but hardware upgrades. Download the new blueprint and the camera's atomic makeup would change and adapt to the new design.Whats the ultimate? I agreed with everyone else...wondering.... the ability to record from the human eye...whooo!
Mr. Jannard sir
Might I ask what the weight is on this Epic proto ??
So anxious to get it and just over curious of how much lighter it will be
not a problem if its similar in weight to R1
just curious
the smaller body is a big big plus for me as a solo shooter
but i have been hitting the weights all year to be super solo shooter :coolgleamA:
Is there yet any idea of the maximum length of the cable between the brain and the camera body?
Less than two second boot time is fantastic. A big improvement for all wildlife shooters.
EPIC-X will be the 1st one released and that is the prototype we will bring. Since Scarlet uses all the same modules, you'll really be looking at the system for both.
The prototype we will bring is missing the ASIC. We will bring a few surprises that do operate however.
