  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X at IBC...

I just wanted to say to you Jarred, and really all of the Red Team that takes the time to be a part of the community, thanks. I'm sure there are thousands of other things you have to do and tons of stuff that comes up out of nowhere, but you lived up to your word when you said you would throw up some closeup stuff for those who weren't at IBC.

Keep them coming Jarred. I love showing my wife cool videos of things I'm going to burn my credit cards to get rather than on Caribbean holidays and the kids school fees:)

Anyway, some folk won't be happy until you deliver anti-gravity boots free of charge via your new teleport system...

lol, Guys... now I'm getting hate mail. Let me state again that I was k-i-d-d-i-n-g. I know the whole RED team (and those of us with cameras!) are loving the new 4.5K widescreen mode and I found irony in the fact that the first thing Jarred decided to share with us was a square module in the middle of an enormously wide image. This was amusing to me. :) I don't care what aspect ratio Jarred shoots in as long as he keeps them coming!

Really, I keep refreshing this page as much as the rest of you guys do. Deep breath!
 
Like mentioned before: Jarred is specially fond of the 4.5 widescreen format, as it allows for him to be in frame from quite close. You have to pivot the camera though ;)
 
haakon you sure have a way with words :) your apology will probably piss off people more than your first post, as i am sure it can be read many different ways.

I find people usually are not very fond of passive-aggressive type dialogue in posts.. People think it makes them look clever but it usually makes people just wanna punch ya in the nose. As most of you know when i want to be an asshole i straight up be an asshole. Much easier that way. No mixed signals :)

I think the english language is just doomed.. Its words and expressions are far too variable in definition for the internet, and as we move more and more to digital correspondence rather than social communication the art of actually being understood when we open our mouths gets further and further lost.

Considering the huge ethno-mixity and cultural differences present on this entire forum since its debut, we're doing pretty good... A lot of stuff, humor especially, gets lost in translation (mine very often :smile:)...

Yeah, get some sleep Jarred, I like your 4 'edits' in your post... From pissed off to peaceful... That's pretty sweet... I like that in you :)

I saw just how patient you are at IBC... :thumbup:

I'm off now, shooting my first feature with the Red all day again! We're havin' so much fun, I wish the same to all...
