Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
I guess I'd have put this online at RLF/800/1000/4400 kelvin.... The denoising kills off a lot of tonality in the skin, making it look a bit C300'ish...-
But it is interesting.
The image isn't really underexposed, if it was intended as shot...
Thus, there isn't a lot of real/relevant noise in there to begin with...
Matter of taste, but because of the skin, I kinda like the un denoised 12800 better....
I like it better that way but I must say Topaz Denoise does an amazing work.
I guess render time must take long though for video.
Don't even know if this plugin exist for motion...
Or this Color Grade without any noise reduction.
Epic is a great camera !!!
I'd have waited until there is 16-bit support for RAW... Curious about how still filters will work on video, as well. Some may work very well, others, not so much, I guess...
I think this is totally mind boggling. For all those shooters that say the F3 can "see into the dark", I think this is interesting proof of the power of RAW and how deep into the night IT can see. Kinda amazing I think.
Using high ISO settings to make a bright scenes brighter is hugely different from using high ISOs to bring up highly underexposed images. You can get clean ISO12800 images all day if you take images that are well exposed at ISO800 and just crank up the ISO.
Scarlet can see into the night the same way the C300 can (not quite as high ISO). Either way, the main difference is that C300 uses in-camera denoising. Doing it in post vs. in-camera denoising at all ISO's. It would be cool if Red had an in-camera denoising option for high ISO's but I'm sure Dragon will make this unnecessary.
