Hello to everyone,

Here's my first official foray into the RED world.

What I wanted to do was to make a "high-concept, cinematic club promo", rather than the typical DSLR club promos we constantly see.

After pitching it to various clubs, WEBSTER HALL (NYC's biggest club) agreed to let us make this for them. And for their BIGGEST night of the year, HALLOWEEN.

Shot on RED EPIC with a RED 17-50mm.

Color grading was done by our fellow RedUser "Derek Morrison".

Here it is:

Wonderful job! Excellent grade on the close-ups.

Nice work, Savva.

Really like the interrogation / torture room lighting.

I grew up at The Limelight and Webster Hall.

You've made Webster Hall a great Halloween promo.

Savva, excellent EXCELLENT work! The piece as a whole was fantastic. The grading was gorgeous as well. Loved the whole thing! Well done! Agreed, Webster Hall definitely got something worth while with this.

Thank you guys!

Yes if only the Limelight was still around. Haha.

The grade was great for the turnaround. I ended up sending Derek the footage (175GB) through the internet. We used various options from Dropbox and Copy to wetransfer and Media shuttle. The best one of them all, which we only came across at the end. Was Bit torrent sync. So if any of you guys have to transfer huge files, I'd recommend that.

Thanks again.

This was a great project to work on. I'm glad to have been able to contribute to it, Savva. I thought for a moment that we weren't gonna get the files transferred in time for me to even get it into Speedgrade. It is a good thing we found Bit torrent sync.

Thanks for the compliments on the grade. I think this was one of the quickest turnarounds I've ever been a part of. Luckily we did manage to get a revision in there as well.

I think that was a ballsy from the club to go for such a promo. I'd like to see more of this in commercials and corporates.

Moreover, the execution is great: the grading as some already mentioned, but also just the way it is shot and edit. The sound sells it all to me, it's great that it has not been overlooked. And also, the promo being for a club, it would have make sense to make it electro-music driven, so once again, I think it's a smart and ballsy choice.

I love the casting, the guy is both expressionless and full of thoughts going on in his brain. I mean, that is a great piece.

Haha thanks man.

I think if there was a club that should have went for it, it had to be Webster Hall. They're been around since the late 1800s, rumor has it even had some witchcraft going on in there back then.

And yea the guy, who is actually a good friend and bouncer at the club, was spot on. The girls too, the main girl is actually my girlfriend....but i digress ;)
