Hi all. I got my Epic-W in about a week ago. I also got the Motion Mount in. I've been shooting on dragons for a while with standard mounts and i'm finding some difficulties getting into the swing of the new camera with the motion mount at the same time.
Is anyone else using this combo? Is the motion mount a good idea on this Helium sensor? i'm getting a lot of noise in my images (purposely not lighting things well for the sake of testing the low light capabilities of the sensor) but i'm not sure if it's because of the sensor, the mount with the nd's in it, or what. Wish i had a standard mount to give it a run on but i don't any more. So i've been reading manuals and trying to pinpoint my problems.
I did black shade the camera so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm not really sure if there is, and if there is, what it would be, for the conversion of the camera ISO to the loss of the minimum of 1.6 light stops with the motion mount attached. Anyone know? I thought the Motion Mount Pulls ISO feature would tell me this, but when I had the camera set at ISO800, then turned on the feature, it showed ISO264, which is the opposite direction of where I thought it would go.
Overall, i'm just confused and tired of reading the same things and not getting it. Anyone have any real world experience with these two items together? Interested to know how you're fairing and if you have any input?
Also, sidebar question but, is there any reason whatsoever that you would NOT want the square shutter enabled? I did a shoot the other day with soft shutter enabled and my footage all looks pretty soft.
Really confused & frustrated so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
