  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic w very big noise

are you running the latest firmware? Did you run a blackshade after installing the new firmware?

I also concur, I do not consider your image to have unacceptable noise.
Yes I have a latest version of an insertion. I did calibration of a sensor before updating. Calibration of blackshade and calibration of a sensor is different things? And it is obligatory to do it after updating?

A very general rule.

In low light situations rate at 250. Outdoors in bright sun rate from 800-1600. Seems backwards but higher rating helps protect highlights and lower rating helps ensure you get more light on the sensor.

More light = less noise.

Also use the left goalpost in the histogram. That is the noise meter. It will tell you, while you are shooting, how many pixels are in noise, you can go about 3/4 of that before really perceiving noise.

One thing is for sure, low key, no light images with slow lenses (2.8 is slow) will get burn you if you are not careful.

Thank you! It is very important information. Thanks

Then I have for you bad news. Can. Davinci Resolve Studio without problems lets out 8192x3456

I'm not trying to undermine you by any means. I just want to see what is in your pipeline working with full debayer.

Can you specify what graphic card/s you are using to resolve 8192x3456 output please?

I'm running quad Titan X gpus and they can ONLY resolve at 7680x4320@60Hz. And we have a friend who is working with NHK as a Super Hi-Vision R&D team member. Even they are limited to 7680x4320. Now those are calibrated monitors with pro features built-in. I have taken the Epic-W captures into their lab and images out of the computer looks amazing.

We most likely haven't correctly understood each other. I use NVidia Titan X 2 pieces on combined Hakintosh. Yes, the card of course doesn't give 8k, but I without problems can make rendering 8192х3456 in Davinci Resolve
