Hi,

Is there anyone else that had the no sdi signal problem. This is so annoying. Sometimes it helps to restart the camera but there is no continuity to it. It feels so random when the monitor actually works.

All help appreciated.

Thanks

I know some SmallHD monitors have had SDI boards go bad...which means it works intermittently and there is no way to pinpoint it. I'd fill out an RMA and get them to fix it. If you can send the signal via HDMI and it's rock solid, it supports what I think is wrong with your monitor.

Never had SDI issue with the RED's signal to a 702. I had issues with Alexa's and 702 signals plenty of times. Mostly needing to reboot. Besides, swapping cables. Have you tried going through something else into the 702. Like a teradek Transmitter/receiver sending a RED signal.

Have had issues with an Amira and 2 different 702's that both had intermittent SDI issues.

I had the female connector on the base expander go bad last year. A possibility if you're not just having issues with the 702.

Long shot, but have you checked with a different output frequency? I know the newer firmwares have implemented the 'auto' setting for a while now, but I've sometimes had to go in and pick a specific Hz with my 502.

I only have issues when first booting the camera or coming back from Power Save mode. The communication between the cam and the monitor isn't always the best so just turning off, then back on during any major power cycle fixes for me. Had a Hz issue with my HDMI port and other monitor that I was able to fix easily as Darrell pointed out.

Just a shot in the dark, but...

When i recived the Epic-W (unbox it) and Using the I/O V-Lock expander the SDI/HDMI outputs were not working.
After trying almost EVERYTHING, what did the trick was setting the overlay of the SDI/HDMI output to RED OVERLAY and then set it again to CLEAN

I know it seems weird but after that i never had any problems. Could be a firmware issue...

Also as Darrel said, try diferent Hz configurations instead of AUTO.

What module are you using?

Good luck!
