Hello everyone.
Today I was shooting on the EPIC-W and had a pretty significant problem. We had been shooting in 5k at 96fps for about 10 min on a 512 mag, getting some different shots all in one take. The camera was a bit on the warm side but the fans were blasting away as we were shooting without sound. At around the 10 min mark the screen suddenly froze as if we were looking at a screen grab. We couldn't stop recording but all the menu buttons worked. After about 3 min of thinking though what it could be and trying different things, we finally shut the camera down. When we started it back up it was having trouble locating the clip and froze on the "locating clip" task bar (I think thats the wording). We then ejected the mag (holding 1 and 2), which it did, but the task bar would not go away as if it was still searching. Shut the camera off again switch mags and it worked fine again.
Battery was at 15% and mag was at about 10% when it all froze. Latest firmware is installed.
The client rolled with it but neither of us had ever seen anything like this happen before and they have been shooting with RED for a long time. So big question here, were we pushing the camera too much or was it just a one time glitch?
