Epic W Provide Phantom Power?

[Brandon Forbes]

I apologize if this is a stupid question.. New to the RED scene.. We purchased this adapter for the Epic W but it says it doesn't provide phantom power.. Does the camera itself then provide phantom power like the Epic MX does? Or is the only way to get phantom power for this camera through the $4000 expander? Thanks!

[Steve DiMaggio]

no the camera does not provide phantom power, look for an inline phantom power adaptor

Or get a powered mic.

yep, I use only self powered shotguns

I know it's a more of a hack then a solution but has anyone found a reliable inline phantom power adapter? Self-power mics are the way to go but I'm curious if there's a decent fix to power up a mic between the A-box and a boom.

That is a rather odd feature of the camera. Does it have line level out?
