I'm wondering if anyone has any settings recommdations or LUT suggestions for matching the Epic-W and C300 Mark II. We shoot 4k ProRes on the Epic-W as our format of choice.

I'm new to the Red world, so any detailed responses would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

I haven't shot very much with the c300 mk ii but as far as luts go, on a project with a really quick turn around where I had to match an epic-w to an fs7, I found lutify.me to have some great log conversion luts I which I used to get the cameras to a decent starting point. You can put a lut like c-log to rec709 and rwgRGB/log3g10 to rec709 and get it in the ballpark. I shot it all in redcode raw though so it was easy to match the epic-w to the s-log3 of the fs7.

It was quick and got a decent result for client review but once it went to the colorist, he took it all back to log anyway, and we got a much better final product. I suppose that's how it always goes though haha. C300mkii color science seems better than the fs7 so you may have better luck than I did.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I'll do some digging to see if any of these options could work.

If you are going for a strong "look", FilmConvert has some great options by download the different camera packs. It is narrow though in terms of your look and you'll need to find one of the options that suits best...but in terms of matching it really is one of the best out there.

I also use Impulz LUTs a good bit as I like they way they work with RLF. If you shot in RLF then you'll have a good starting place and I believe they also have CLOG LUTs. Those are also great for matching and don't have as much of an inherent look as FilmConvert.

I would shoot ACES on the C300 MK2 and then use an ACES to RedWideGammut matrix on it and theoretically the two should match automagically. (They won't, but it'll be relatively close?)
