I'm having difficulty upgrading my Epic W to the current firmware Version 7.0.4, currently it's running 7.0.1
I've done everything as per the instructions, downloaded the software, unzipped the Force Upgrade folder and copied it off to a 240GB Mini Mag then inserted the mag with the camera off and booted it up but it's not recognising the upgrade.

I notice there's a .bin folder zipped inside the Force Upgrade folder and if I try to unzip it opens a zipped .cpgz file. And if I try to unzip that it opens another .bin file like frickin' Russian dolls!

I'm not sure if these files are meant to be unzipped. When I previously upgraded firmware I went throught the usual routine without any issues.

Make sure you've downloaded the correct firmware upgrade...sometimes you may inadvertently download the incorrect one which may be why it's not updating.

Also, before updating, without a mag in cam and the camera off, hold down the power button for like 20+ seconds...that will re-flash your settings. Then, put your mag in, secure format, then go and copy the zip file onto the mag. Shut camera off, put mag in, and see if that works.

Solved it. Easy one. I just needed to take the 'force upgrade' folder out of the Epic W Build 7.0.4 folder and load that on the SSD on its own. Duh!
