Epic-w battery drain

Does Epic-w drain battery much more than epic mx? I have not timed it yet but with a fully recharge red brick that is just on I think im getting about 40min compaired to 2hours on mx. I like to point out that the 40 min is just a guestimate but im sure its not one hour.

Curios if someone runned some test of this already.

My Epic-W seems more power-hungry than my old Epic Dragon. Didn't time any runtimes with my old Dragon while I had it but I got 2 hours of runtime with a PagLink 150Wh with my Epic-W.

I will clock it soon. Seams red epic w should draw little less than epic dragon. Dragon draws 60w I think and epic w 50w.

POWER CONSUMPTION
The camera draws approximately 3.3 A (50 W) when configured with the DSMC2 Base Expander, DSMC2 RED Touch 7.0" LCD, and RED MINI-MAG® 512GB.
Under typical conditions batteries provide the following operating time:
REDVOLT: Powers the camera and accessories for approximately 30 minutes.
REDVOLT XL: Powers the camera and accessories for approximately 90 minutes.
RED BRICK: Powers the camera and accessories for approximately 120 minutes.

I believe that DSMC2 draws more power more consistently than DSMC1. I know that when you get power spikes on DSMC2, it can over-draw batteries that worked perfectly on DSMC1.

If you have the 153wh RED BRICK, then it should be much closer to 2hrs or more on DSMC2. I run an Epic-W with a minimag, sidekick, base IO, (no red monitor), and a low-draw wireless transmitter and I see about 2hrs on my 150wh CoreSWX brick.

How old are your batteries? Perhaps the cells are going...

The red bricks is from 2011 but I have had zero problems with them with my mx.

I'm getting 2.5 hours on Blueshape BV180 and nearly 4 hours on BV270HD.

I had issues with my wireless wooden camera v mount on my Helium Weapon. At first I noticed it draining the batteries faster and then eventually I had problems with the camera just shutting down and unable to startup again. I switched back to an older wooden camera v mount that plugs directly into the AC port and haven't had any problems since and battery run times seem back to normal.

Interesting, I have a WC Vmount (blueshape) cableless and it works well. I do know some of their earliest production models had some defects. You might want to reach out to them and let them know, they might repair or replace.
