Hey everyone!
So I'm upgrading my tripod kit and despite all my research, I have a tough time deciding. To start, I'm a wildlife cinematographer so I need something heavy duty, light and super smooth for my lenses. I was looking at 2 heads. The Miller Compass 20 with solo legs thats $2,600 and supports 26 pounds or the Manfrotto 526 head with 536 carbon fiber legs that is $2000 and supports 35 pounds!
I know Manfrotto doesn't have the best rep with pros but at a 35 pound load capacity and no stick with pan, It looks promising. I wonder if the only difference between these two would be the price... I love Miller though and everyone says their Compass 20 or 25 is amazing and super smooth. Thoughts and suggestions? Also it needs to withstand the elements like rain, sand, rocks and mud.
