  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic to Dragon upgrade time limit...

You mean if they will end the choice of upgrading Epic to Dragon? If there is such an end they really need to tell far in advance. I want to upgrade, but I do not have the finance for it at this time but hope to have at a later date.
 
Jarred has always said that at some point the upgrade would end. But as Bob says, there is no official word yet as to when that might be.
 
Hopefully Jarred would tell in advance so we don't miss it. But I think it's odd that they would remove the upgrade choice all together. Isn't the whole point of the modularity of Red Digital Cinema that we will be able to upgrade our equipment instead of buying new cameras all the time. That is the original vision for Scarlet/Epic and I feel it would be odd if the upgrade would suddenly not be an option, leaving everyone with MX's left to buy a totally new camera.

I want the Dragon but I cannot afford it at this time. I need to see that my MX can generate income enough first so I can do so. But if the upgrade ends I will be stuck with my MX.
 
You can still upgrade you redone m to a MX to give you a idea on time limits.
 
As a scarlet mx owner still on the fence, that's the kind of time limit I like.
