  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic SSD

Wasn't CHE shot entirely at Redcode 28? And there is a ton of high detail in the jungle. So if 4K 10:1 looks that good, I imagine 5K 12:1 will be awesome in the vast majority of cases.

Che: Guerilla was shot at RC 12:1 (Redcode 24)

As awesome as EPIC is, someday (probably sooner than we think) Red will have a next generation camera that will do 6K 4:1 compression at 192fps. Thats how technology goes, it always advances. IMO I don't think the production/pro cameras will get smaller, I think Red has hit the pinnacle with that one.

Good thing the system is modular...

to borrow from Jarred (heh heh heh)

You must go crazy sometimes answering the same damn questions about Redcodes... we STILL use RC28 and its awesome for most commercial work
when we want to get more recording time from our 16GB CF.

But dammit Jim. I need RC2.5 1 and 1000 fps at 5K and please keep it under $4000.

Do it. I'll be the one behind you paying my $4,000...

$4000.. choke... coff...
Come on mate...

1000fps comes at a price/ especially at 5k res.
I doubt even the mighty RED can pull that sort of shit off without some major compromise.

Love to be told differently though...
But a 100k at that sort of speed and res.. I wouldn't even hesitate. Those Phantom and Weisscam boys are killing it at the moment with those hi speed rentals!
