  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC Side-handle strap

$5 chinese Canon knock off works great... (ebay)

S-Handle strap slots are pretty narrow, so that is a challenge regardless of choice I imagine.

Waiting for RED to make a Kevlar $100 strap that I would trust an Epic with one hand with. The SLR straps are too light weight

I don't even mess around...the Black Rapid straps are fantastic. really enjoying the RS-7

Any issues with attaching? Need anything else. I just have the canon mount package, nothing else so far.

As for side-handle straps, I ?think? that this one worked and saw several who did buy it (I guess for use with side handle), but I just have this link, not the thread where it was discussed, so I could be wrong:

But ... that's an expensive camera to trust what looks like a plastic buckle.

I may have to get steel handcuffs ... so I'll be sure not to lose it or let it fall from my hands!

Even the cheapest straps are nylon webbed. You'd tear off a finger before those blew out I would imagine.... the plastic pad/buckle is just that, a pad. nothing to do with supporting the strap.

nope, the 1/4 20 screw goes direct to your bottom plate, attaches with a metal buckle. Only drawback I've run into is the Epic won't sit upright with the 1/4 20 threaded into the plate (obviously) so I just unscrew when I wanna sit it down.
