Joshua I believe and agree on you points no doubt and thank you for your post.
Story is king and i firmly believe that. DOF is extremely valuable with a tripod thats much more weight and an AC I didnt use this time, 5man camera crews are sweet hell ya all day every day everywhere but costly and slow moving too.
Your post is on target in all ways.
I have personally attended Score Baja races for over 18 years now, been there for ESPNs coverages, been apart of Dust to Glory been out in the boonies been threw it with family and friends. This time around just ran around on my own running hand held, with a friend doing his own thing not far away.
I love my GoPros, my HVX 200, and my 7D, all do a wonderful job for me and ive taken them all out to the BAJA however
Flat out the Epic is just more dominating versatile and useful in so many ways it is the best overall camera choice for this event.
Is it gonna go on the bumper of a car for me? no thats a GoPro, is it gonna be a crashcam? no its not that kinda thing its overall the best.

BTW you have some unbelievable footage of the events you cover, Im a huge fan and totally love your shots.
