Anyone rockin' this setup? Seems ideal for the field/battle... etc...

that looks bolted to the SSD (CF card at the time I guess?) module...but I never seen the bolt able bits on the current SSD modules?
I swear though some people have a little similar set ups but I don't think as tight as this...

This is an awesome set up though...

Yah, correct me if I'm wrong -- but these are fairly old renders from before there was even a working Epic prototype out there?

The recent DMSC accessories from Matt (Clutch, Gunner, etc) are much are much more indicative about what Red is putting out now to support the Epic.

You have an eyeball located in the top of your chest?

Nipplecam! lol ...yea doesn't look so ergonomic afterall.

The gunner rig I tried on at NAB was so great though..balanced to a T and comfy, just like the way this rendered shoulder pad looks.

Collar-bone cam! LOL!

Well, to be fair, in this render the version of the Bomb EVF was the one that had the "folding-riser" mechanasim built in to it's base. You can see the adjustment thmbscrews and the two "flanges" integrated in to the bottom of the EVF in the picture.

Right now it's sitting in it's "folded" form, but the plan was that you could position that style of EVF quite a bit higher just by using the buit in mechanism. This didn't show it here raised up, but in another render they did, IIRC.

That's interesting. Would the mechnism really rise that much?

But it's interesting to think about the idea of hanging the camera from the top rails rather than sitting it on lower rails. The low COG would have some advantages. But there would have to be some kind of handle attachment point. Just holding the brain or side handle wouldn't work very well. Once you got that worked out, the evf mounting problem would be easily solved -- even if you just used an arm.

Well, I think the body of the EVF is ~4" long or so, and there's 2 sections in the riser, so those could each be close to a couple of inches long. Extending upward by close to 4" might be in the ballpark.

But, given that I don't think this is in the production version, the issue is rather moot... it's just that I don't think that rendered setup was as unworkable as it might have first appeared...
