Epic Serial Numbers

I got an email the other day giving me my Epic serial number. Any Idea how RED is numbering? My Epic serial number is WAY higher than my RED One and I took delivery of it right away.

Will the Epic serial numbers/delivery dates play into any future purchases?

Dave, Mark is right...no Epic serial numbers have been given out yet. I looked on my order receipt and there's nothing showing a serial number of any kind, just an order number.

Ditto on that. Just order confirmation and order numbers. No serial numbers. So I'm not sure what number you are looking at, Dave?

Mark, Andrew, and Jeff are all correct. You are probably seeing your order number

I've also received an e-mail from RED (dated May 10, 2010) giving me a serial number. But it just calls it a Red Camera serial number, and it's the same serial number as a Red One I didn't take delivery on. Maybe these are some kind of internet ghost e-mails?

Brian I will PM you the message I received. I've already e-mailed my questions about it to my Bomb Squad rep.

Yeah, our web team was synching up some of our email databases, and some old RED ONE serial number assignment emails that were queued up - but failed to blast for one reason or another - ended up going out. So, please ignore, just some RED IT spring cleaning

It would make much more sense to start from "00001" or at list if not just follow the R1's serial numbers, but for some reasons I believe that matching the R1' Serial No's could make it a potential problem..

That makes perfect sense and it is simply what I tough from the beginning.

If they are matched to RED serial number, are they matched to RED delivery date.

Now thinking back I did pass on my second RED One 2318. That was the serial they sent me ....... No Epic SN's yet. Good. I couldn't figure out how I was 801 RED One and 2318 Epic.
