There has been some discussion in the forum about recording Epic's SDI out with a KiPro mini or similar device. The following question has been asked in several threads and I have not yet found the answer:

What is the debayer quality of the 1080 SDI out on the Epic?

Thanks,

Eric

My guess is that Stuart English would be the guy to answer this question.

SDI out is full debayer. Scaling options will be added soon that enable more options.

Playback is not currently full.

Just out of curiousity, what is the SDI feed looking like for Scarlet? Full debayer at 4K -> 1080p? What about the other resolutions QHD, 3K?

Same for all formats on scarlet also.

So, just to confirm, the EPIC and SCARLET HD-SDI output is what:

1) Resolution(s)
2) Format 1080Psf or 7020P@? or true 1080P@?
2) Bit depth - 8bit , 8bit inside 10bit file or a full 10 bit?

This info is much appreciated and required for many who hope to purchase.

This may be a long shot, but does the meta data flow through HD-SDI when playing back similar when it's recording?

I have not had the opportunity to actually deal with TRUE 1080P@24 that EPIC/SCARLET outputs.
My Canon XL-H1 has canon's flavor (probably Psf) and the EX3's we use at work are Psf.

Question: How do broadcast monitors like the JVC, Panasonic or Transvideo deal with it?
In other words, does your normal HDSDI monitor work okay with Red's true 24P?

It does if your monitor supports that resoloution
