Ok, don't get me wrong this video is ROUGH but, I just needed to post this because of how this small camera (my sexy EPIC) turned my scout into a really nice playtime for my sound man, story board artist, director and of ME! I would never do this with a 435..

There is minimal lighting we brought just for some tests, and some of the crap shots are for the storyboard artist..

Enjoy, also would you shoot FF or 241? 5K is a given!

Footage is a little shakey, but man...those lenses do look great!

And again...wonderful choice of music. Thats one of my favorite songs of his.

Edit: Regarding shaky...lol I know its just a scouting video. Wish I was closer to Florida! looks like a fun project!

No doubt it was!! My arms are still hurting from handholding without my rig.. Also it's sooooo rough... It's a neo realistic piece and the director really wants it REAL.. Anyway, I just thought id share if so people can see what you can do on a scout with the EPIC..

Should be a fun project. Great crew!!

I cant believe how much that looks like a movie, and its just you shooting some location scouting sh*t... amazing... the one thing that makes me want to hold out for RED

Thanks Justin, it actually was helpful. Shows how the camera is going to be huge allowing for this sort of quick and easy testing. The lenses do look very nice, btw.

That's what we said!

Glad it can be helpful, truly the reason I posted it..

Wow. Looks good! Looking forward to the final product.

DUDE! Its Dope!!! I didn't read the whole description. I thought it was a short about a tragedy or a birth. I spent most of the time engaged into what the story was. Damn! Looks so Good. I was holding out for a Scarlet. I may just say forget it and start figuring out how to get and Epic.

Darn you Justin...every time I think I am not going to get the CP.2 you somehow find a way to make me reconsider my decision!!!! :001_smile:

Thanks for sharing. Great looking stuff even for "just scouting"...:thumbup1:

Thank you.. Great that we can make a story with a scout video ;-) hahaha, gotta give it to my storyboard artist, he played it up for me..

EPIC changes the way I work for the better. Just got my REDvolts, CANT WAIT to do handheld with them!!!! Just a shame it takes 30 min to run down a battery and 2 hours to charge it..

Looks great Justin!

Could you speak a little on your feelings and overall thoughts regarding the CP.2 set and why you prefer them over the RPPs or other similarly priced alternatives (or even more expensive alternatives).

Happy to take this particular question elsewhere if you prefer to keep the thread about this project only - not trying to derail!

Thanks :)

Thank you..

It will derail quickly and this thread should answer all of your questions :-)

That's so compressed my EPIC itself jumped out of the case and pleaded with me not to post it! Hahaha

Take a mono pod with you... youll be amazed how that little stick saves the day...

And do some tests for yourself later in AE 5.5 using the Stabilze funtion... That will blow you away. It will look like you have a super techno telescoping through the hall... it's crazy good.

Also Borne idendity is famous for shakey hand helds... It added alot of excitment to scenes.

Was this graded at all? I find it ridiculous that this is your "scouting"/"testing" footage. Seriously. This is an impromptu, 'lets see how it looks' type of deal? And it looks like that? It's a slap in the face to anyone who has ever spent a boatload of money filming in a hospital. In fact, I bet if you walked in with the actors, you could have just shot the scene and the audience wouldn't have even noticed that it was essentially a point-and-shoot.
