After speaking with many of you, we've made some changes to RED102: EPIC and SCARLET.

The new online course WILL feature tutorials on any software that deals with R3D files. The tutorials will be basic at first, and then get more advanced.

We're also going to take a "news" approach to the medium. In other words, I have watched a few computer software demos in my research (About 100) and 90% of them have something in common.

THEY. ARE. BORING.

So at either the beginning or end of each tutorial, we'll have an "express version" that will basically mean I shut the hell up and rock through the steps you are wondering about.

If you want detail and explaination, then watch the longer version.

We'll be going online in about 2-3 weeks.. So stay tuned.

Oh, and one of you suggested that we do something for those with slow internet access. We have. Will explain more later.

That's great. I am really looking forward to these. How is the cost structure setup, subscription based?

Membership

Damn you Tyler! You've opened up a can of worms. :ihih:

Seriously the short version is that the memberships are 3 months at a time, and $26.95 per month. There will be a couple hours worth when we start up, and since we add a video per week, it will double in size by the end of your membership.
This will give you access to all:
RED101 videos (We're updating them also)
EPIC, SCARLET, and all Software videos
Also you should be able to download them as well.

WARNING: These rates will change (Increase) over the next 6 months after we open.. But those that sign on soon, and stay on, will always have this rate.

Those that want the RED101 by itself will also have a membership, and it will be a little less, but will not update as often either (No need, there's already 4 hours of stuff on there!)

We are working on another option since a lot of people have complained about not being able to watch the videos online due to a slower connection.

We're not going to make DVDs for a long time, and when we do, it will be a lot of them since we're going to have over 8 hours of material by year's end!

My thought AT THIS TIME is this: There will eventually be a 6 month memebership, and anyone who joins that will have the option of having a flash drive loaded with all the available videos and sent to them for a fee.

There are some problems here, especially if a lot of people go nuts and want this.. My HOPE is that only those who REALLY need it will buy it.

Not sure of the details yet, but I know there are people out there who will want this, but cannot view or save videos online.

Trying to help everyone out.

I'll keep you all informed!

Very cool, I'll be sure to check that out!

Definitely interested. I am new to Red so this might be an ideal solution.

We've been working our butts off on all this. We've even done comparison videos so you can understand the differences between the two cameras.

This will not only be great for new owners, but also those people trying to decided what to buy.

Count me in, I bought the RED101 Video a while ago, was great for understanding Red One. I also liked in the red one video how you went over different accessory options, and how to get a decent rig going for the high end, as well as the low end.

Looking forward Jay! And thanks for making some allowance for us whiners about slow-connection alternatives
;)

Yeah.. You're all babies. :001_tt2:

It's no problem. However do NOT expect it when we open.. I would expect it to come about three months later. Of course there are exceptions to everything.. If you really need something now, just write me about it.. We'll work it out.
