  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC / SCARLET Beta Build 4.08

Hi,
I keep getting a very noticeable greenish tint when toggling to RAW VIEW in all of the Build 4 releases (does not happen in Build 3). I have attached 2 screenshots (in RAW mode, histogram shows green channel offsetting towards the right ostensibly).

Sid and Joseph,
Can you be more specific when you say that autofocus does not work? Does it lock up the camera, does it not move the lens, does it miss its focus point?

When the autofocus is on, depressing the shutter release (1/2 depressed) causes a slight flicker in the lcd as if it's trying to perform the focus but the lenses do not engage. 3 lenses tested thus far - same result. Zeke, is yours working? I should mention that the lack of autofocus doesn't prevent the camera from otherwise operating normally.

I'm curious to know if this issue is consistent to all cameras running this firmware or just a few 'lucky' ones.
 
Same as Sid, everything else works normally, it doesn't lock up the camera, autofocus just doesn't seem to engage.

Tried a few things (enhanced on/off, center/spot, single/cont) and found no problems. Had my 24mm on it.
 
24-105 and 17-55 AF works....somehow it seems like IS does not work that well? very strange, it seems to work but not like before? does not make any sense, i know but since it looks like there might be something funky going on with the lens communication maybe there is an issue there as well...or my hands got shakier since the upgrade....

Hi paul, Are you using a scarlet or epic?
 
Shooting 2K 2:1 300fps... After pressing record, I occasionally get glitches happening on screen (5in RED touch and DP6) Good news is it doesn't record onto the card, so it is simply a monitoring issue. Have not seen while shooting at any other resolution.
 
I updated to the first build 4 beta version recently and I need to roll back or upgrade to the newest version for a shoot. But I can't access it because it says my account is still locked and I don't own a camera. Can someone update my camera ownership before red opens in the morning? I have owned my camera for months now and haven't had a need to access the firmware updates on the website. I'm not sure why it still says that I don't own a camera. PM me if you can do this thanks.

I've seen it in 5K on de HD-SDI PGM on the Pro-io

A second problem in encountered is that the LUT seems to cut off at 94% the Zebra only works if I put the LOW-IRE down to 93% Still need to fiddle around with de knee function to see if that fixes it.

A third problem is when I use de SMPTE bars the camera locks up. I need to reboot to get it working again.

Apart from this it worked perfectly on three commercial shoots this week.
 
Found a little bug in 4.0.9 (no thread for that version?). After changing resolution the fps-number doesn't get changed to the max for that resolution. Man, for a moment i wasn't sure if there is a huge surprise for us Scarlet-users, because i saw 23.98fps @ 5k. That's something that can cause heart-attacks, i got some adrenalin coming up for a few seconds. ;) Anyway, the cam records 12fps and as soon as i play with the fps-selector it updates to the right value.

I almost got a heart attack too when I saw 23.98 stuck at 5k. What a cruel bug! (4.0.9)

We can all rejoice! 120fps at 5k!! Dreams do come true :thumbup:
