  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic S35 focal length compared to GoPro 2?

I think in 1080P mode the FOV is 127 degrees, which would be close to a 6mm lens in Super-35. The sensor in the GoPro is about a 1/2.5", which is 5.76mm wide, so the conversion factor to Super-35 would be about 4.17X-ish... which means that the GoPro Hero has something like a 1.4mm lens? Is that possible?
 
The gopro lens that it comes with is a 2.2mm. They are often replaced with a less fish eye lens. In the 2.8-4mm range.

Side note - a bit off subject: As far as I can tell there is no way to lock aperture, shutter angle or select an ISO, correct? I fully realize this camera isn't intended for 'professional' use, even so, I don't understand why GoPro woudn't write some code into the cameras software to enable a fully manual mode. Seems like this would be fairy simple to accomplish and would certainly make the camera much more useful. As it is now the camera just does whatever it thinks is right, which IMO is mostly wrong.
