Ladies and Gentleman,

Does anybody know if I can use the original Red One power supply with Epic?

thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

thanks guys, that was my fear..anyone want to buy a power supply cheap? heheh

Epic power input is +11.5 to +17VDC. The 1st AC adapter that I got for my RedOne is rated 12VDC / 8A (96 watts max). A 2nd AC adapter that I got for myRedOne is rated 15VDC / 10A (150 watts max). It's my understanding that the RedOne is a lot more power-hungry than the Epic, so if a 96 watt supply was sufficient for the RedOne, I would think that it would work (sufficient with less head-room) for an Epic as long as you used the 2B-to-1B adaptor cable. I would check with Red tech-support.

I think it's the original 12VDC that is the issue but I could be wrong.

The current supply for RedOne is 15VDC, so maybe they decided to give it more headroom for possible 12VDC issues. At any rate, I never had a problem driving my RedOne with the original 12VDC supply, even with EVF and LCD going at same time. Also, the Epic manual states that the power input is rated 11.5 to 17VDC. Of course if you have the 15VDC version of the RedOne supply, that would be better than using the 12VDC version with an adapter cable; but again, tech support!
