So speaking hypethetically here, and not wanting it to open any can of worms.... Epic over a Scarlet and why?
So, if you were shooting at 23.974/24p and say shooting at 6:1 or 5:1, shooting at 4K lets say for this, apart from extra frame rates, and the ability to go to 5K, why would you choose Epic over Scarlet? Or wouldnt you, because you wouldnt need to?
Trying to woek out the start and finish points for the difference between the 2 for narrative. Things we know:
- Epic will do 5K and do it at higher frame rates
- Epic will go to higher RedCode at 4K, but there have been tests on how much difference you really see from 6:1 onwards i believe
For 4K capture, to 2K output at 6:1, a Scarlet handles this pretty well indeed. So why would YOU choose Epic over Scarlet for this.
Cheers
