EPIC OPERATION GUIDE

when you have an epic and you log into your user account you get access to the new builds ( new build coming soon )

Hi Jarred,

Wanted to check something:

On Pg. 115 of the EPIC Ops Guide, it states:

"APPENDIX B: MANAGING DIGITAL MEDIA
MEDIA
REDMAG 1.8” SSD is available with capacities of 64GB, 128GB or 256GB. Record duration is
dependent on resolution, quality and frame rate, but a 64GB SSD will typically provide 24 minutes of
24fps 5K RAW recording."

If I am not mistaken, the "typical" res, quality, and frate rate would most likely be 5K, 5:1, 24fps? If so, wouldn't that make the duration ~24 minutes on a 128GB SSD, rather than the 64GB?

Thanks for any info.

I still can't get it to print with OSX 10.6.7

With the draft open in Safari do File->Save As. You'll see that the extension is .pdf Save it. Then find the saved file (on your desktop, downloads folder, or wherever you send downloads) and open it with Adobe Acrobat. If that doesn't work I can't imagine what the problem is.

Thanks, I was able to get it to print on one computer but not on another. Anyway ... I now have a printout.

Wow,

Thanks RED team for releasing this draft manual.

Although over the months and years we have become somewhat familiar (through REDUSER) with what Epic can do or is expected to do, a published manual is super important for prospective buyers.

When the full functionality and various design aspects of the “instrument” are fully laid out, then it’s much easier to understand how well designed the EPIC really IS, in terms of well thought out highly integrated systems that are yet beautifully modular.

Seeing everything laid out in this way engenders a great deal confidence in any prospective buyer, as everything seems completely “doable” and one can in a sense “get a grip” before you take the plunge. You are not left in much doubt as to what Epic can or cannot do. That saves weeks of trawling through posts to try and find the right answers and still not really knowing whether you have most of the pieces or not. Manual makes a huge difference and is always a good start…

Nicely structured and well presented, the manual seems written from the user’s eyes and point of view.

Great Job, much appreciated!

Cheers,

Eric

Scarlet manual is still awhile away :)

The SideHandle/RedMote is pretty much the only thing that I've needed the manual for. I think what's in the EPIC manual will translate over to the Scarlet for the most part. The electronic lens control is quite intuitive. Nicely done...
