  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC OPERATION GUIDE

Congratulations on your purchase of a RED EPIC® camera
I like this part the most :)

Thanks. Just started reading.

really like that the relation between WB and DR is in the documentation.

As to HDRx, would it be possible to use it "the oposite way". The "X-track" with 360 degrees , while the main track was at 180-degrees?
Or the oposite way (as to tracks)?

I guess this have been asked before, but still...

60W speaks of the voodoo magic happening here. <-----
Still love how "Leica" the menu's font is. :)
Unprecedented GUI and control! Intuitive.
BTW, love the engine shot.
LOVE being able to just touch the audio meters to get to the Input Menu! Those little things piled up into a heap of dream-camera awesomeness units.

Would the X/Y Offset allow you to record a specific section of a lens' image circle? And let us play with circular distortion wide or distorted lenses so as to have the image fan out to the right and bottom for example? I mean, can you crop in and then you push the box to the right and down on the X and Y axes?

And what is the recommended brightness setting for the EVF with a good seal on the eyecup?

I would really like to see the pinch magnify/shrink in action on a little video.

people already are using it backwards.... ( but 2 stops )

Thanks for the manual. I assume you'd like feedback??

FYI: I got an error when I opened the PDF: Cannot extract the embedded font 'NGRSBA+HelveticaNeueLTStd-Bd'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."
Here's a picture of the dialog box: http://screencast.com/t/UYyyQsoN0A7

TYPO: Page 14 - Caption on Figure 2 says "WITHOUT LCD of EVF Connected". I think it should be "WITHOUT LCD or EVF Connected".

On page 19 it talks about the Media Status LED but the table calls it the Record Status LED.

On page 44 & 45 in Section3. PREPARING TO RECORD, the user is directed to format the SSD twice; once in step 3 and again is step 4.

Peace,

Rob:-]

Thanks for the feedback guys

awesome! I was thinking it would be simple to switch HDRx....expose for highlights to be the "normal" exposure and the x track be overexposed. Very neat

Just remember that your short exposure will have very different motion characteristics than a normal exposure would.
