Hey ive seen it done tons of different ways but i would love if anyone had recommendations for me at all. Trying to figure out what batteries to buy for my epic, I have red bricks now but there big and heavy and I plan on flying with my gear 4-8 times a year? Beyond that reason I will mostly be on a ronin, so most of you know there is a clearance issue on the back if i have a brick, I can always get a cinemilled extended arms but problem is then I am going to be Running mostly Ef L series canon Glass so the weight in the back will be alot more vs me running a Pl mount with cine Glass.

SO i guess my question is does anyone have experience with side mounting a v lock battery to the right side of camera? I attached a picture below they sell one for the movi on B&H photo but i'm not sure if this will fit on a ronin or if some one has done it with a brick?

Im also open to buy 6 new batteries and a charger for something light weight, for the ronin configuration and that i can easily fly with. any recommendations?? thanks so much for your time.

o yeh and I know I could just use a side handle but..... lets be real lol I would like to have my camera on for more then 15-20 min at a time, thanks in advance again!!

Hi Damien,

Yes that plate works great. If you use that with small IDX Endura7s 76Wh batteries you'll be golden. You'll just need a lot of them.

Hey Damien,
I have that exact same set up side mount. I was flying ti with my cooke mini s4is and red brick on the back but the lens are so front heavy bought that and it works wayyyy better! I also own the idx e-7s slim that work great but only gives you an hour of runtime and you need a different charger the redbrick charger doesnt charge them

We have been searching for the perfect powering solution as well and we are using a v-mount belt clip right now which works perfectly!

thanks guys for the info both of ya!

Yea what we do is mount an AB or V mount plate to the top cross bar of the ronin and then just run the power Lemo cable to the camera. Takes the weight off the actual gimbal. Which will save you battery life on the ronin!

I bought the long arms from DJI to be able to run pag batterys on the back, what a bummer that was. The ronin was mad front heavy. So I looked at the cinemilled's pan arm extension. It works like a charm now! Yes it;s a bit heavy but that's good! I can cancel my gym subscription now!

I have that kit, barely using it, it takes a lot of time to screw on and off, case has to be modified otherwise. Used heave bricks on ronin without problem attached to a vlock adaptor (rear) and it works fine. You wont have as much up and down room but its still enough for me. Ronin takes on 7.4kg easy.

Why not just wear the battery and run a cable to the stabilizer to power the camera/monitor/etc. Works for me :-)
