Epic lost communication with lenses. No Iris, no auto focus. Canon Ti mount, several lenses.

Things tried:

multiple reboots
install new firmware
remove side handle
re-install lens mount

still down. anyone have experience with this issue? Had to be a holiday weekend with a shoot on Monday.

Did you try "rediscover hardware?"

If you did and no joy, file a trouble report. I'm betting a physical contact is not being made. You might try contact cleaner on the mount to brain contacts.

All contacts checked and cleaned. Yes, it happens with all electronic glass. I use manual lenses for primes ( a converted Leica R set), so only noticed this when I put on the 11-16 Tokina EOS mount for a wide shot. Then checked several, 17-40, 24-70, 100.

Of course I just sold my back up Epic brain, with two lens mounts. I hope it's a lens mount problem, easier to ship and perhaps fix.

Where's "rediscover hardware"?

Come to think of it, this is my first go with the v 5 firmware. Might try going back to 4.

I have similar problem with Scarlet-X and Canon AL mount. I see in menu (something with lens in name) "Mount type: unknown". The same situation on FW 4.0.18 and 5.1.29.

When upgrading/downgrading did you get the pop-up notification "Upgrading Attached Peripherals, please wait..." or "Firmware upgrade successful. [Shutdown]"?

Hi,
During upgrading/downgrading I only see colored boxes in Bomb EVF. LCD monitor display NO SYNC (but it's not RED LCD, and it's connected by HDMI cable).
Then camera shuts down.
When I turn it on I don't see any information about upgrading attached peripherals or success of upgrade.
The only thing that I see is complaining about Redmote if it's firmware is different than the one designed for FW 4.x or 5.x

Thanks.

Best regards,
Łukasz
