  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think it is about time we hear some news on when to expect the epic

In the rest of the world you do not have to pay untill a camera is ready,
with the epic a lot of people did
So to me this is not like the rest of the world


( I am a reduser, I have been on a set with a red for at least 300 days on several series and I'm more then happy with the results )

Anyone who wants there money back can have it. They just go to the back of the line. Not many companies give their customers the opportunity for priority. Just a thought.

I don't think specific dates for stage 2 or 3 are much help as we havn't gotten into stage 1 yet. That is the BETA stage and could be anything from a few weeks to a few months!
I agree with you Jim and keeping your cards closer especially with specs etc...but please keep on keeping us informed on how we are going on getting into stage 1. This at least feels as though we are getting closer to stage 2. I don't expect many details on performances of the system as you work through the BETA stage but just how far away you think it may be before stage 1 and updates throughout stage 1 on how things are going. Release and stage 2 will happen when it does...
I don't think waiting for it is an issue, just keeping informed as you have traditionally been excellent at. For the complete opposite, take a look at us poor suckers on the Viewfactor follow focus wagon...complete opposite to how RED work and personally, i think they would be lynched if anyone could find them!
 
When a camera system as mind blowing as the EPIC is concerned, I can see why...

1) Many would pay in advance.
2) Many would buy it as soon as it is available to ship.
3) And many would sit here reading and writing posts about the EPIC
because there minds are on fire with thoughts about the EPIC camera system.
 
i'm still saving for stage 3. it will be the last camera i buy and hopefully ever need to buy.
 
Yeah. . . and some of us are getting sold old it is likely to be true!

Yes but epic is modular right? red one was not. And also Red One to Epic is an upgrade right? there are loop holes my man.

I would happily change place with an unpatient stage 2 holder right now, and invest my money in Red Epic!

A different thought :-)
