EPIC-Ms are going out the door. We are being very selective who gets these because all features are not enabled.

It is like the old days with the RED ONE... firmware upgrades, etc. We have a sense who can embrace the process... and you need to know what you are signing up for. If your 1st question is "what is not enabled"... trust me, you aren't the right customer for EPIC-M and should wait.

The work being done now with EPIC-Ms is the groundwork for production EPIC-X. This is good for everyone. I hold all the exception cards for deliveries and I play them when I think it is in everyone's best interest. We need hard core professional use and feedback to make this project as good as possible.

Please don't ask about dates for shipping EPIC-X. We have given guidelines (approx. dates) that we think we can meet. But this is a very difficult project with lots of moving parts. Also don't read into this that there is a big delay. There isn't (as of today).

If you are an EPIC-M candidate given these facts, make sure Kelly has your info.

As much as I look forward to having my own Epic-X in hand, I'm just glad this is happening.

Just curious - the Epic's that are on Spiderman, are those beta version of the camera (software and hardware wise?) that will come back to RED when filming is over? What will become of those? Collectors items, no doubt. :)

Thank you very much for the update Jim.

The Epic is so mind-boggling that just reading about it satiates
my Epic desires.

Jim, I would love to be part of this program. We have our order in.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

We could have an Epic-M working tomorrow, and solidly for the next 6 months.

We're signed up and have huge anticipation.

Fair enough

Excited for the ride. Expectations in check. Really looking forward to getting to know the Epic. It would be my pleasure to be a positive part of the shake down phase in any way that I can.

Out of curiosity... and I'm sure this question will probably get shot down, but I figured I'd ask anyway... is there a chance that Scarlet will be shipping before the Summer? No matter what, I'm waiting on it... I've been waiting for the past three years, RED's obviously where it's at... but a vague idea would help me tremendously.

Thanks Jim. Great to hear that more product is going out the door.

Waiting patiently (while I continue to enjoy my MX),

Mike

I was happy to have the R1 around during all of the early dev process. ...no regrets.

Bring it on! #43

Don't forget there are some of us signed up for stage 2 who never made a complaint about features not yet available on red one. In fact we were happy to go along with the process. If you gave a choice and a disclaimer, we would be happy to field test the cameras which aren't fully enabled.

Epic is an incredible piece of Machine, I was very excited when Red One came along,
but Epic is absolutely the Cinema and Still camera of the future.

Extremely Proud of been given the privilege of the alliance formed with Steve Gibby on Epic M8,
and will do our very best to provide this community with our time and put M8 to the works on a variety
of shoots in different environments and test the camera in all type of styles and configurations,
and climate variations, on foot, on vehicles, on Helicopters, hand held, Steady Cam, Shoulder mount,
indoor outdoor, day light, night, lowest ISO to 12,800 low frame rate to hight frame rate, this is the camera
of Our dreams and we will put it to the test, and we will continue to share every single moment of this
amazing Adventure that is EPIC M8 ;)

At the same time we wish BEST of LUCK to all EPIC M Candidates!!
