Finally had an hour to shoot and edit something with my new favorite piece of RED ART....... MY EPIC CANON MOUNT! (and Firmware 2.0!)

It's more than I could have possibly asked for.. Canon lenses work better with the EPIC than with my 5D! The IRIS opens smoothly, unlike the clicking of the 5/7D.. The IS just frigging rocks.. Worth EVERY PENNY!

I swear, EPIC is the gift that just keeps on giving..

AMAZING!

Will have more time to post some videos on how quick it is to install the mount as well (took me 5 min to install the mount and update the camera to recognize it)

Enjoy..

You're starting to sound like a fanboy like me. Just a shame that RED does that to us, ay?

I'm glad you are getting to work with the mount at last...

Consider me a fanboy then! I'm officially in love.. RED EPIC a REDVOLT/Bomb EVF and the Canon mount make for an orgasmic combination. (also my Mantis rig) can't afford the Clutch..

Great looking footage! Cute dog, too.

Yehh Nice video with Canon glassss Justin,
I wait my canon mount for 15 december :( i hope.

Images look awesome Justin. What lens/es did you shoot these stills on?
Hey Brad, Thank you..
This is all video and just grabs from it (amazing huh!!)

I used the CANON 70-200mm IS II
I also used the ZEISS CP.2 50mm and 85mm

Great looking footage! Cute dog, too.
Thanks, he is a great dog, and knows he cute too... He gets more "AWW He's so cute" comments on the street each day then I do a year (or three)!

Congrats Justin! It's a killer combo for sure!

Mark, when do you FLY out? I have a job the 7-15th of DEC but before and after that I could probably send you the mount..

How does everyone compress their footage? My stuff was uploaded at full uncompressed 422 (1.2gb file) and it still looks pixelated? Is Vimeo better?

Justin I generally use some kind of compressor that uses x264, to export the h264 codec for web based projects. I believe thats what Red actually uses when posting their footage online, but I can't seem to find a link to support this. I'll keep looking. I have not worked with much Red footage, but this is what I find to be the best solution for my motion graphics and DSLR work: I generally export to something very close to Lossless, and then actually use Handbrake to compress the file to h264, as it uses x264 and is free! The results typically have very few artifacts.
Also, vimeo seems to look better to me, but thats just my opinion. There's probably not too much of a difference.
