Just wrapped up this project for HZO the leader in waterproof liquid submersion protection, corrosion prevention and high volume manufacturing solutions for consumer electronics, wearable technology, medical devices, and industrial components.

Now if only Red would hire them to coat their electronics boards, the Epic or Dragon could go anywhere.

Love to hear thoughts.

Hi Michael

Loved it. I like all the different locations, and the way they integrate. Also of course, the dynamic framing of the shots are very good, and the grading completes a beautiful filmic experience. On a side note, I can´t believe that the product is real ;-) Why aren't all my gear coated with that??? It almost looks too good to be true :-)

Thank you for posting, and of course, producing such a fantastic way of telling a story in stunning images.

All the best

Peter

Nice. I particularly liked the music on the teaser.

The material does look fabulous. Where do I get a quart? :-)

Great little films. The drone going in the water was impressive!

I'm curious if there is any downside - like making repairs (like desoldering) more difficult, heat dissipation reduction, compromising recyclability, etc.

Thanks guys. No the product is fantastic but it's manufacturing level, so it has to be done on large scale. For example the 2nd gen of Nike Fuel bands are currently using it. There are some nano-coatings out there that they just put it in a big sprayer but HZO is much more complex and requires the boards to be masked during application so it's pretty complex. In that side by side drop we actually had two iphones and the regular nanocoating failed at 1 minute. We submerged the HZO coated phone for over a half hour, still good.

Awesome spots some of the best stuff posted on here in awhile..

...what % of the shots used the gimbal..?
...how long has HZO been working on this...?
....What was the budget for these spots...?

Roughly 60% of the shots used the gimbal, it proved to be an amazing tool. Had some issues with our board and Letus stepped up and had us fixed in a couple day. Plus they would have given us a loaner if we needed it. That company totally gets customer service. Can't say enough great things about them.

We have been shooting off and on since the beginning of October, wrapped up in beginning of December.

Budget, while I can't disclose. Let's just say we were very creative with what we had.

Nice stuff Michael - looks great. This tech would be very cool if adopted as a standard for gear.

It is being used by some larger corporations in amazing products but unfortunately in the Consumer Electronics world there are still a lot of advantages to the break and buy mentality.
