  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC + Leica-M + Pier 59

In that case as son as our Leica M mount ships out, I'll visit you and we'l shoot some together... ;)

BTW... I love to shot some of those Female Statues... Some of them must have some real skin... ;)

Ketch, btw, 90% of those Viennese statues from Austrian Monarchy time were made and designed by Italian artists anyway...just that you have some roots here in Vienna...

Also I probably will order Scarlet next week (finally because I've got a bit lasy and greedy to pull out my CC...ha ha ha) just after I see how it's going on with the rhythm of shipping schedule...

Actually dating from last NAB I expected the new sensor in latest RED cameras like Epic and Scarlet.

I had already M and MX and know very well all good and bad sides of those sensor designs, but that's just me because I always want to get the newest toys....ha ha he he he...

My Red Bomb EVF waiting from the summer to get a job with Scarlet...

Sanjin... no doubt you get some credit here... you have been a mad man pushing this for as long as I remember.

That's right Jarred and now you know me a bit better..and yes I'm a kind of "remote mad scientist"...otherwise I wouldn't survive pretty long in this crazy world today...

Also I'm glad that we all like Leica here...

So Jarred, how will that M mount work with R glass?

Sign me up too.

Curious about this too! I'm a hardcore leica fanboy and own several beautiful R mount glass. I do have a canon mount adapter though so theoretically I could put the leica R on the canon mount adapter onto the RED canon adapter? Probably not best for infinity focus but if you could check this out over at the RED HQ the information would be greatly appreciated!

I would love to see this list as well, as soon as you guys can get to it.

Still Leicas are such a cool option to have, for many reasons.

Psyched about these lenses, though looks like we won't be able to get wider than 35 mm, so probably won't work for my landscape stuff. Let me see, Noctilux or Scarlet, about the same price.

Damn had I only known that much sexy was only a couple blocks away. I really need to go meet the Pier 59 folks. Leica M in motion has been a dreem of mine for a long time. I always used to wish the Aaton Aminima would have a M mount option, but this is so much better.

FWIW, if anyone wants to test lenses, you can borrow mine. I don't have anything new or spectacular, but I have a 90mm Summicron, a couple of CVs and an old thread-mount Canon 50/1.4 with an M adapter. I'm not using my M bodies ATM anyway.

I'm not a RED user but I like this community. :-)

So, Sanjin, with the risk of opening a can of worms:), what are you cooking up in your kitchen?
As I understand it, the only way to get a M lens wider than 35/2.0 to fit is to reduce the distance betweem the sensor and the lens connection.
Reducing or moving the front of the Epic/Scarlet?
But you are talking about an adapter?

Ketch, when you are in Vienna give me a call or shoot an email.

Already I was testing Voigtländer Nokton-M 50mm f/1.1 in November 2009 then on my RED ONE M.

I's a good lens for the money but still not better than Leica Noctilux M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH

because is a little bit less sharp and has more coma lens aberration artifacts at wide open.

But a better performance at wide open is exactly what you would need from those two super fast lenses.

Optically Leica Noctilux f/0.95 is much better lens but Voigtländer Nokton f/1.1 has much more attractive price.

Btw, Vienna is a super dark city at night.
