  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC lands in the UK

Excellent news and a very nice surprise. I'll be in Pinewood's vicinity over the coming weekend so will drop Alan a line to see if Friday or Monday would work fork a quick visit.

Alan, any chance you guys can organise a 5k has landed day?

Hopefully you gave it a suitably English name.

Is it called Le Epic on France?

That's "le épique" to you, sir.

...I wonder what they would call the GH2? Unlike here, they could't call it the quarter-pounder with cheese.

For those of you concerned about the UK Epic being named after an American, just think of it as being named not for Steve McQueen the actor, but Steve McQueen the Turner Prize-winning artist and filmmaker. Problem solved.

Bond has been my guess for their "major action movie" the whole time. I hope I'm right, because that would be an incredible combination of awesomeness :)

It'd be interesting to compare the EPIC to the Dalsa they used in the last film...

Of course a camera is a female thing, just like in German. Don't you hug yours from time to time ?

Even if Dziga was a man, we call ours "Die Wertow"…

Nope. It's "La Epic" here, because a cinema camera is a female thing here. :arf:

Yes, the video of Ted at Sundance which says in France "Le Scarlet Fix" is a bad translation. As Benoît said, a camera is a female thing in french so "LA Scarlet Fixed".
We know french is a bit of a pain to learn for strangers, as for us are asian languages (I think...).

Y'know, I woke up this morning and thought 'This country feels more Epic-y today'... and what do you know? We're playing host to an Epic.

Cue my 'stand-and-point-with-joy'!

What's French for irony bypass?
