Does the existing battery plate work with EPIC ? I want to put red bricks behind and focus on redvolts....investing in things that i wont be using in 2-3 months doesnt sound reasonable...i might as well save some money for SSD drive. The V-Mount for EPIC is $1200

Mike I sure hope your wrong about people with X's already having REDMotes.. I've lost 2 jobs because I didn't have one and couldn't get one in time..

Yep seen it... but yes, could have been a mix and match. but then again the EPIC M that was next to the X had a REDMOTE on it as well...

But you do have to really wonder why a REDMOTE / Canon mount / Bomb EVF & Side grip takes a lot longer to make than a whole EPIC camera...

I hope that who ever is making those parts for RED are getting a RED boot up the arse from above. They are certainly dropping the ball on RED and hence RED gets hammered by customer complaints...

Lets hope they start to make them as fast as they are making EPICs. They have to start catching up quick, because there is going to be a storm of orders about to come through soon after NOV 3

I seem to remember reading a bit of debate around the point that people putting down money for stage 2 X's are technically well ahead of M buyers which sort of makes sense. Therefor makes complete sense that they are being filled in order of original ordering...2010. This isn't a RED quote but my understanding and totally justifiable. EVF's were being delivered at the beginning to M buyers even though there were still R1 buyers waiting after well over a year for an EVF and were being skipped and caused a stink...understandably. Not sure how accurate i am on this and RED won't probably let on about it but it is my understanding this changed also, and is fair.
Also, what is easy to figure out is that a MASSIVE amount of people have been buying up and ordering accessories months and months ago in preparation for not only EPIC but Scarlet as well. I know this as a fact reading peoples posts and so in turn is making it extremely hard for people with cameras in their hands. I noticed this sometime back and as bad as it is jumped on that particular boat and ordered up to have some type of workable camera. Example...ordered a bomb evf in January and it arrived not 2 weeks before my EPIC X. I added to the problem but my hand was forced. I bought a stack of redvolts sitting idle on a shelf too amongst other pieces.
It's all a shitty situation that i still can't believe is happening again after the R1 days. To me the most critical things after the camera is a damn interface for vision and audio and being able to run both evf/lcd at the same time!!! . How can it be third parties are delivering their versions and we're still waiting on RED? I love everything RED and a MAJOR pusher for it here locally...but i have no answers to questions from clients and users, why can't it do that but can do all this other great stuff!

I'm on the Gold Coast if you need a hand. I have an EPIC M with side handle and RedMote. Currently using a CineMod Nikon mount and some old Nikon and Zeiss lenses to get by. We don't have the Canon Mount though. Ordered on 9/9.
